📚🐯 Learning Today to Grow Tomorrow! 🐯📚

While our students enjoyed a day off, our Kiser Elementary staff was hard at work learning, collaborating, and growing! 💡Thank you to our sister school, Springfield Elementary, for hosting many of us at their school and to our district staff for hosting our 3rd and 4th grade teams throughout the county.

Today’s professional development focused on Do Nows and Exit Tickets—two powerful instructional tools that help teachers quickly identify what students know, what they need, and how we can adjust instruction to support their continued growth. 📈✨

Our teachers are committed to being intentional, reflective, and responsive in their instruction so that we can continue to provide what every student needs to learn and grow.

Yesterday we celebrated Dot Day. We learned that it starts with just one dot and we can see where the journey takes us.

We are continuing to shout out the great progress we made last year. Congratulations to our 5th grade teachers and students for increasing Science Proficiency by 8.2%. Way to Go!

It's official, we have made the Top 4 for the Panther's spirit rock contest. We need your help to get the word out to vote for our rock. The winner gets $2500 towards the visual arts program. This year’s Panther Rock submission is proud to recognize Luke Keuchly’s induction into the NFL Hall of Fame! Kiser’s rock was designed by 5th graders Scarlett and Sefary. Go Panthers!

TEST RESULTS ARE IN: Today, the State Board of Education released testing and accountability data for the 2025-2026, and there is good news for Gaston County Schools.

▪ Highest year-to-year increase in student proficiency on state tests
▪ Graduation rate reaches an all-time high of 90 percent

It was “Game On” for our students and staff today as we welcomed in our 2026-2027 school year! We spent the day getting to know each other and learning all of the plays in our playbook to make our year a success. Don’t forget, students are encouraged to wear their favorite team or school shirt tomorrow. We will have our first team meetings and we want everyone to dress the part.
