The Lincoln County Board of Education is excited to introduce Lincoln County High School senior Addison Abbott as its 2026–27 Student Board Representative!

A dedicated student leader, Addison currently serves as Class President, Girls Varsity Basketball Captain, and HOSA Treasurer. She is also an active member of BETA, National Honor Society, HOSA, Youth Empowerment, UNITE, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, First Priority, and Student Council.

Addison says, “Being chosen as a student board representative is an honor and an exciting way to start this chapter. I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent my fellow students, share their voices, and make a positive impact on our school.”

Over the summer, Addison proudly represented Lincoln County in the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival, where she received a cash scholarship. This September, she will represent Lincoln County again as a participant in Lincoln County’s Distinguished Young Women program.

We are proud of Addison’s accomplishments, leadership, and commitment to her school and community. We look forward to the perspective and positive impact she will bring to the Lincoln County Board of Education this school year.

Thomas Jones was high individual for the whole contest.

This information is published pursuant to KRS 160.470. The proposed tax rate is not subject to recall under KRS 132.017.

The General Assembly has required publication of this advertisement and information contained herein.

The Lincoln County Board of Education is proposing a general fund tax levy of 47.1 cents on real property and 53.2 cents on personal property.

This is a decrease of 2.8 on real property and no change on personal property.

The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2026 was 49.9 cents on real property and 53.2 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $8,170,253.84. The proposed General Fund tax rate of 47.1 cents on real property and 53.2 cents on personal property is expected to produce $8,475,203. Of this amount $1,346,415 is from new and personal property. The compensating tax for 2027 is 45.2 cents on real property and 53.2 cents on personal property and is expected to produce $8,182,177.

The proposed rate is expected to generate more revenue than received in the preceding year. The general areas to which revenue of $304,949 above 2026 revenue is to be allocated are as follows: Cost of collections, $9,149; General Fund expenses (salaries and benefits), $295,800.
