Just one month until NSO! We can’t wait to welcome new students and families to Hillel, Stanford’s home for Jewish life. ❤️🌲

During NSO week, students can meet new friends, connect with Jewish student leaders and Hillel staff, and join us for our first Shabbat and bagel brunch of the year.

No matter their background or experience, every Jewish student has a place to belong at Hillel. Share this with your incoming Stanford student and read a welcome message from JSA Presidents Sam and Yoni below:

“JSA is a home for every Jewish student on campus. Whether you’ve celebrated Shabbat your whole life or are exploring Jewish community for the first time, we’re here for you. We can’t wait to welcome you for Shabbat dinners, bagel brunches, retreats, tikkun olam programs, study nights, and so much more!”

Meet Savannah, Hillel at Stanford’s new Campus Rabbi! ✡️ A veteran, Jewish organizer, climate advocate, spiritual counselor, and rabbinical student, Savannah brings a remarkable breadth of experience, and a deep commitment to intellectual and spiritual curiosity, to our community.

When she’s not exploring big Jewish questions with students, Savannah loves climbing and biking. She’s excited to help students explore Jewish tradition and build lives of purpose. ✨ We’re so glad she’s here!

They met at Shabbat services at Hillel and have been together ever since. ❤️ For Felicia and Lizzie Frankel ’20, Hillel was where friendship, Jewish learning, and eventually love took root.

From Shabbat services and internships to fellowship conversations and snack breaks in the Taube Lounge, their connection grew alongside their Jewish life.

Now married and building their post-Stanford life together, they still carry Hillel’s values of spirituality, Jewish community, and generous care with them every day.

We are proud to create spaces where students can find belonging and lifelong connections.

Fresh energy for Jewish student life at Stanford! ⚡

Two of our newest staff members spent a week at Hillel International's New Professionals Institute in Columbus, building community with peers from across the country and learning from experienced Hillel leaders.

Our new Campus Rabbi, Savannah, returns inspired by conversations about pluralism, authentic leadership, and what it means to do this sacred work on campus. Our new Springboard Fellow, Penelope, is excited to bring the joy and connection she found with her cohort back to Stanford.

We’re so grateful for the energy, insight, and inspiration they’re bringing to our campus community!

To celebrate International Day of Friendship, we’re spotlighting two best friends who met at Hillel: Elan and Levi.

“Walking into my first Shabbat at Hillel during Stanford's New Student Orientation (NSO), I felt nothing but nerves. After services, a then stranger, Levi, came up and introduced himself. That instant connection made the room feel smaller, and it led to our first of many Shabbat dinners together.” - Elan L. ‘27

From that moment on, they were inseparable. Their friendship was shaped by Hillel: Jewish Learning Fellowship, weekly Shabbats and Bagel Brunches, and involvement in Stanford’s Jewish Student Association.

We love celebrating the special connections made at Hillel. ❤️ Tag your Hillel friends and share a memory below! 👇
