The Stanford Department of Genetics will be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of its founding by holding a Symposium focused on the scientific contributions to field of genetics made by persons who have been important part of the department. We would like to invite you to join the Symposium and listen to talks from people who have been and are currently significant part of the department including: Sir Walter Bodmer, Lee Herzenberg, Ted Shortliffe, Stanley Cohen, Charles Laird and many more!

The Symposium is held on July 26-27 at Arrillaga Alumni Center at Stanford.

This year the Genetics department is celebrating their 60-year anniversary. Next year is the LAH 60th. Time for a LAH symposium. Open for suggestions - what time of year - if holiday weekends are better for travel - other suggestions.

It began with the symptoms of a passing illness. But the woman got steadily worse, and the doctors worried that it was something else entirely.

It seems that I am only passing on bad news. We recently found that Roger Kautz passeqd away in May. Here is his obit. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/mercurynews/obituary.aspx?pid=185790453

There will be a memorial August 12th here in Palo Alto. If you would like information about the memorial or the contact information for the Kautz Family, please contact me personally. I will not publicly post.
