Dear Roadrunner Families,

We have been made aware of a TikTok account, reportedly using the name “Cat in the Hat,” that includes student names and content containing minor threats. This information has been reported to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Department for appropriate follow-up.

We have also been made aware that a similar incident has reportedly occurred at a neighboring school district, which further reinforces the importance of taking these concerns seriously.

Although students do not have access to phones or social media while at school, we recognize that what happens online outside of school can carry over into the school environment and impact our students, staff, and overall school climate.

This serves as an important reminder that parents and guardians should regularly monitor their children’s social media activity. Please know what accounts your child is accessing, what they are posting or sharing, and who they are communicating with online.

If your child comes across concerning content, please do not engage with the account or share the content further. Instead, save or document the information and report it to the appropriate adult, law enforcement, or school administration.

Our students’ safety and well-being remain our highest priority. Thank you for partnering with us and for helping ensure that our students make safe and responsible choices both at school and online.
