As back-to-school season starts, daily routines change fast — drop-offs, new routes and busy mornings. Routine changes are the #1 cause for kids forgotten in a hot car.

Make these habits automatic:
⚫ Place an important item in the back seat.
⚫ Once You Park, Stop. Look. Lock.
⚫ Keep your car locked and keys out of a child's reach.

🚸 Slow down, Greene County! 🚸

School is back in session next week, and School Zone Traffic Speed Cameras will be active to help keep our students safe. Please pay attention to posted speed limits during the times listed for each school:

📍 RES: 7:45–8:30 AM | 2:45–3:25 PM
📍 NGES: 7:35–8:15 AM | 2:50–3:30 PM
📍 WMHS: 7:35–8:15 AM | 2:50–3:30 PM

A few extra minutes of caution can make all the difference. Let’s protect our kids and our community!

In an average year, over 10,000 vehicle occupants killed in traffic crashes were not wearing seat belts.

Wearing your seatbelt will reduce the risk of sustaining injuries from being thrown around the inside of the vehicle or being ejected from a vehicle when a crash happens.

Last year, the Christopher King Seat Belt Law went into effect, requiring all vehicle occupants — regardless of age or seat position — to wear a seat belt.

Buckle up - don't become a statistic.

Bicyclist fatalities on U.S. roads have risen over the past several years, consistently exceeding 1,100 deaths each year:

⚫ 2024: 1,103 deaths
⚫ 2023: 1,173 deaths
⚫ 2022: 1,117 deaths

🚘 Drivers: Stay alert and double-check your blind spots.
🚴 Cyclists: Be visible and follow traffic laws.
