Domus' and Lily Villanueva recently attended a professional development session hosted by , the State Education Resource Center of Connecticut, on “Confronting Disparities in School Discipline for Black Girls.”
The session focused on challenging traditional perceptions of behavior that can contribute to exclusionary discipline practices for Black girls. We are grateful for opportunities like this to learn alongside educators across Connecticut and continue strengthening our work to support, advocate for, and empower young people.
At Domus, we believe every young person deserves to be seen, understood, and given the support they need to thrive.

At Domus Kids, caring for our young people starts with caring for the incredible staff who show up for them every day.
Recently, our Wellness Committee organized a pasta night at Columbus Park, where staff came together to make pasta from scratch, share a meal, and enjoy time with one another outside of the daily work. It was a simple but meaningful reminder of the importance of connection, community, and taking time to recharge.
We are so grateful for the dedication, compassion, and hard work our team brings to serving young people and families. Their commitment changes lives, and moments like this help us celebrate and support the people who make Domus what it is.
