Independent Junior Kindergarten through Fifth Grade day school in Stamford, CT.

Conceived by Chip Kruger, the former Co-Head of Greenwich Capital, the Waterside School opened on September 12, 2001. A co-educational JK - 5 independent school, drawing from Stamford and the immediate area's most economically challenged communities, seeks to provide its children a rigorous classroom experience blending the important lessons of the classroom with the requisite lessons of character

and the lasting lessons of the heart. Purposefully designed to offer an alterntive to the region's standardized public school experience and to provide a direct path for admission to the area's more traditional and most competitive independent schools. Waterside invests in the academic, personal, social, moral and aspirational potential of its students. The School aims to provide better lives for its students and families and to plant meaningful seeds of promise and hope in their communities.

We’re only a few days into the school year, and there’s already so much learning, creating, connecting, and fun happening throughout Waterside!

One of our favorite summer traditions is welcoming Waterside alumni back to campus as summer counselors.

Serving as counselors gives our former students a meaningful paid leadership opportunity to mentor younger students, build valuable skills, and stay connected to the Waterside community. We love watching them step into these leadership roles and inspire the next generation of Waterside students.

Once again this summer, a cohort of Waterside students and alumni had the opportunity to attend Kieve Wavus Education, Inc., where they're making memories, building friendships, and enjoying everything camp has to offer.

Thanks to Kieve and Wavus for providing more than $500,000 in life-changing summer scholarships.

From archery and swimming to arts and crafts and so much more, each day is filled with adventure, laughter, and new experiences. We love seeing our students grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity while having an unforgettable summer!

A few weeks ago, we welcomed Waterside alumni back to campus for our annual Alumni BBQ, and it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces!

It was a special day filled with reconnecting, reminiscing, and celebrating the accomplishments of our alumni. We loved hearing what they've been up to since leaving Waterside and seeing current and former members of our community together again.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We are so proud of our alumni and are always grateful to welcome them back home!💙

Waterside students have been building teamwork and new skills through our rowing program with Greenwich Water Club 🚣

We are grateful for this partnership and excited that Greenwich Water Club will provide 10 full summer scholarships for our students and alumni to continue rowing on the water this summer. This opportunity allows students to further develop their rowing skills while building confidence and resilience both on and off the water.

Meet our 2026 Graduation Speaker 🎓🔉 Arianna Fleuriot is a proud member of the Waterside School Class of 2011. She earned her bachelor's degree in Communications, Legal Studies, Economics, and Government from American University in 2022, and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

During law school, Arianna held several leadership roles, including Vice President of the Black Law Students Association, Community Outreach Director of the Moot Court Board, Research Editor of the Insurance Law Review, a member of the Mock Trial Society, and served as Moot Court Director of the Northeast Black Law Students Association.

This fall, Arianna will begin her legal career as a Corporate Associate at Pullman & Comley. She remains closely connected to her community and currently serves on the Associate Board of Waterside School.

We can't wait to have her speak at this year's graduation ceremony.
