As many of the students from our 2026 graduating class are heading to college this week, here is a look at a few pictures from our wonderful Senior Awards Breakfast!

This gathering before graduation has become a great tradition at our school, where underclassmen moms work together to prepare and provide a delicious breakfast and seniors and their parents and family members enjoy a morning of recognition, great stories from faculty, and words of wisdom. Several of the students in this class started at CKA when the school first offered them the opportunity back in 7th grade! Over these 6 years, those students have grown so much, just as the school has over that time, and they will be greatly missed!

This year, we celebrated Mr. Carrigan and his extraordinary milestone of 50 years as a teacher, counselor, and mentor! 🎉🎉🎉

Throughout his career, Mr. Carrigan has served thousands of students with his guidance, kindness, and unwavering support. He has been a trusted listener, a strong advocate for students, and an important part of our school community since our school first began in 2018. We owe him so much and to celebrate this milestone, we awarded him a school diploma, since he has helped so many students to receive their diplomas, which was met by a thunderous applause by our students, and surprised him with a party on our lawn on the last day of school. It was a great celebration for all! Thank you Mr. Carrigan for continuing to serve our school so well! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Please join us in praying for Mr. Furey, as he heads to St. Charles Borromeo seminary TODAY to begin his spiritual year of formation!

He will be especially missed in the classroom, on the field, where he played football with his students daily, and at our weekly all-school Masses, where he supported and sang with our Schola. He was generous in sharing his many talents during his time here and will be greatly missed!

The joy of the game and the thrill of a gooaaalllll! Are you as crazy about soccer as our students are?! While the World Cup may have you excited, our students are always excited for soccer. This spring, our middle school boys had a great win when they came together to compete in a friendly scrimmage, where they were coached by high school soccer players. After the game, they insisted on being doused in water by our chaplain, Fr. Joseph Gill, and he happily obliged!

While our middle school is separate from our high school, this game shows a great benefit our middle school being attached to our high school. The boys look up to the high school players, eighth graders can practice with the high school team, and being coached by high school players was a joyful and rewarding experience for all. Go Kung!

Does your school have a PROM? Why yes! And one of the unexpected benefits of a small high school is that the smaller student body can be accommodated at a greater variety of venues, such as this year at Riverside Yacht Club!

Additionally, the students lead the planning and ex*****on of the event and work together to bring their dream to life. This affords them more control of the event and making it what they want when it comes to location, theme, decor, food, and music! Of course they are supported all throughout the planning process, but they lead the direction and ex*****on of the prom and all the dances hosted throughout the year for both the high school and middle school!

Dances always include games like Snowball, which encourages dancing with multiple partners for short periods of time and swing dancing! The students love it and always seem to be trying to learn a new lift or dip and have a lot of fun practicing these moves on the dance floor!

High school students serve as chaperones for the middle school dances, where they run the playlist, host dancing games, teach basic partner dance moves, and lead in line dances. The middle school dances are open to our neighboring Catholic middle schools and home school groups, so be on the lookout for those date announcements because they are always so much fun!!! 🤩

Attending a middle school with an adjoining high school not only makes for an easier transition, but also provides greater opportunities for middle school students, such as performing in the high school play! Several middle school students were cast in the von Trapp family and worked alongside high school students for months to prepare for the production, which was double-casted with three showings! Hopefully you were able to see one of the showings to enjoy this classic story and see how well all the students did at bringing it to life!

As Mother Abbess says, “climb every mountain, ford every stream, follow every rainbow, ‘til you find your dream.” Stop in this summer to learn about all the opportunities that await at Cardinal Kung Academy!

We heard some students are missing school, so we thought we’d look back on some moments from the last month.

If you’ve never been to an all-school Mass, the first clip of the Schola singing Anima Christi so beautifully may convince you to join his next year!

If you’re considering joining our middle school, know that the students are very fortunate to spend time with Fr. Joseph Gill outside of the classroom every day here’s here! He plays sports with them at recess, joins them the for lunch outside on the lawn, and leads frisbee club after school!
