Stamford Dollars for Scholars® is a 100% locally run and supported 501(c)(3) tax-exempt scholarship foundation. SD4S is one of over 1,100 Dollars for Scholars® chapters nationwide that operate under the umbrella of Scholarship America. Like those chapters, SD4S is run completely by local volunteers. We galvanize support for hometown students who want to pursue education beyond high school. Money i

s raised throughout the year through personal and business donations as well as a variety of special events. Administrative costs are almost nil, meaning virtually all funds raised go direct to aid local students. Stamford Dollars for Scholars® was established in 2011 as the first-ever city-wide scholarship initiative. Just one of the distinct advantages of a Dollars for Scholars® scholarship is that many colleges/universities will match Dollars for Scholars awards. That effectively doubles the financial impact. Additionally, Dollars for Scholars® collegiate partners will not diminish awards they give students who also receive Dollars for Scholars support.
