The virus that causes COVID-19 can spread from a person before they have symptoms. Take action to slow the spread by wearing a cloth face covering in public spaces, keeping at least 6 feet of physical distance, and frequently washing your hands.
A cloth face covering can be made from items around your home, such as a scarf or cloth napkin. Make sure the covering reaches above your nose and below your chin.

Bilingual message from the TTSD Superintendent, Dr. Sue Rieke-Smith:

Good morning, TTSD families and community.

I write to you this morning coming off an invigorating Monday as I had the privilege to sit in many of the virtual meetings our principals hosted with our teachers as they returned from spring break. It was a wonderful way to start the week and a strong affirmation of the extraordinarily talented and dedicated team of innovators we have here at TTSD. I am excited to watch the virtual magic happen between our teachers and students.

This morning I am forwarding on to you the latest information released from the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). Link here. We, as a district, received this information last night and TTSD leadership has begun to dig deep into the State’s proposed plan and what adjustments will be made to our current steps to deliver instructional support to our students.

We recognize, included in the State’s communication, the statement, “Today we know there is a very real potential that our students, like in many other states, may not return to school this academic year,” is unsettling. We do not have any further information at this time around extended closures. We understand our families are navigating the high level of trauma that is occurring in our world today and the added impact on all of us for the loss of our daily routines including bringing your children to our buildings every day.

This week, you and your child(ren) will be hearing from our teachers. Our principals will be continuing to communicate out to their school communities and the district will be sending information weekly, or more often, as we continue to get direction from the State.

Watch for more information as we learn and adjust to these new instructions. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your principal or your child’s teacher with questions in the meantime.

Fue una manera maravillosa de comenzar la semana y una fuerte afirmación del equipo de innovadores extraordinariamente talentosos y dedicados que tenemos aquí en TTSD. Estoy emocionada de ver la magia virtual que ocurre entre nuestros maestros y estudiantes.

Nosotros, como distrito, recibimos esta información anoche y el liderazgo de TTSD ha comenzado a profundizar en el plan propuesto por el Estado y qué ajustes se harán a nuestros pasos actuales para brindar apoyo educativo a nuestros estudiantes.

Reconocemos, incluida en la comunicación del Estado, la declaración: "Hoy sabemos que existe un potencial muy real de que nuestros estudiantes, como en muchos otros estados, no puedan regresar a la escuela este año académico" es inquietante. No tenemos más información en este momento sobre cierres extendidos. IMPORTANT UPDATE: New grab-and-go time for meals 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Tualatin and Metzger Elementary Schools. Breakfast and lunch grab-and-go, Monday - Friday, March 16 - 20 and March 30 - 31. For TTSD students Pre-K to 12th grade. No dining inside the school.
