It’s Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 5! Come walk the halls, meet your teachers, see some familiar faces, and learn about the upcoming school year!

Last day in Greece was spent on a day cruise of the Saronic Islands. We visited Hydra, land of artists! No cars except an emergency for truck and ambulance are there, so donkeys do the work.
Next stop was Poros, island of the writers and poets, where we saw the clock tower.
Last stop was Aegina, famous for the best pistachios in the world! Mustangs took one last dip in the Mediterranean.
Everyone is happy with this experience but looking forward to returning home! Much love from Greece!

Mustangs continued their journey through Greek history, culture, and cuisine today! 🇬🇷

🏛️ We explored the Delphi Museum and the legendary Temple of Apollo at Delphi, once considered the “center of the world” by the ancient Greeks. Students learned about the famous Oracle, walked the Sacred Way, and discovered how Delphi served as a place where city-states came together in pursuit of unity.

🍽️ Lunch was a highlight, with travelers trying everything from wild boar stew and roasted rooster to traditional Greek favorites and baklava with homemade vanilla ice cream.

🏔️ We wrapped up the day in the beautiful mountain town of Arachova, enjoying stunning views and capturing a perfect group photo.

Fun Fact: Visitors to Delphi were once greeted by a towering marble column topped with a Sphinx, symbolizing the mystery and riddles associated with Apollo’s prophecies.

Olympia was the perfect mix of relaxation and history. 🌿☀️ We enjoyed a beautiful resort surrounded by olive groves before stepping onto the grounds where the Olympic Games began in 776 BCE.

🏃 Students raced 200 meters on the original Olympic stadium track, standing on the same ancient starting stones used thousands of years ago.

🎭 We also learned the inspiring story of Kallipateira, whose courage challenged the rules of her time and left a lasting mark on Olympic history.

After lunch in Olympia, we explored the beautiful coastal town of Nafpaktos, taking in views of the Corinthian Gulf and its historic Venetian harbor before heading into the mountains toward Delphi. ⛰️

Fun fact: Ancient Olympic champions didn’t win gold medals—they earned a wreath made from sacred olive branches, a prize the Greeks considered more valuable than gold. 🌿🏅

Fun Facts from Mycenae: The City of “Giant” Walls
​Built by Cyclopes? The stone walls at Mycenae are so massive (up to 40 feet thick!) that the ancient Greeks who found them centuries later literally believed human hands couldn’t build them. They thought the fortress was constructed by a Cyclops (the one-eyed giant), which is why this architecture is still called “Cyclopean walls” today!

​🎭 Fun fact from ancient Greek theater of Epidaurus: Today we stood in the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, built over 2,300 years ago! It is world-famous for its perfect mathematical design. The acoustics are so flawless that if you stand in the dead center of the stage and drop a coin or whisper, someone sitting at the very top row—hundreds of feet up—can hear it clearly without a single microphone.

Opa! Our travelers spent their Friday touring the temple of Poseidon, at the Corinth castle and temple, meandering the streets of Tolo, and visiting the Aegean Sea for some fun in the sun!

FOOD! After a long period of travel, our travelers were greeted with something every traveler wants - delicious food and some entertainment upon arrival!

Our Greece bound Mustangs made the best out of a 3 hour delay in Toronto! They played games, power napped, took time to make art, and explore the terminal. Safe travels Mustangs!
