What does Black History mean to you? Mr. Larry Whittington of the NAU family shares his thoughts. Mr. Larry Whittington is a native Houstonian that started his higher education career at the age of 19. “Mr. Whitt”, as he is fondly called by his students, is the eldest child of two educators. His over thirty year teaching career consists of him teaching developmental mathematics courses, mathematics courses, as well as business courses.    As a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Incorporated Fraternity, he has been mentored to seek opportunities for achievement. He is the owner of Fort Bend Tutoring which has served the Houston, TX community for over twenty years. Mr. Whittington is also a YouTube content creator providing hundreds of free mathematics tutorials with his Fort Bend Tutoring YouTube Channel that has over 85,000 subscribers and over 9.8 million views.   He is the Associate Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning at North American University. Additionally, he teaches mathematics for the General Education department at NAU. In 2023, Mr. Whitt was named Teacher of the Year for North American University.  He also teaches mathematics for the Houston Community College System where he is currently teaching Plane Trigonometry and Calculus I. #NorthAmericanU #NAUStallions #blackhistorymonth
