🌟 STARS is off to a great start! 🌟

This week is all about getting to know one another and helping our students settle into the STARS routine. We are introducing our teachers, reviewing schedules, and learning the expectations that will help make STARS a joyful, healthy, happy, safe, silly, kind, and fun place to be!

Students will also be surveyed this week to help choose the classes and activities they would most like to participate in during our first nine weeks. We can’t wait to see what they choose and get started on a great year of learning, exploring, and being uniquely themselves! ⭐️

🎉 WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!! 🎉

We can’t wait to see all of our students and kick off another amazing school year! This year, STARS is excited to celebrate our “Be You” theme as we encourage every child to be Joyful, Healthy, Happy, Safe, Silly, Kind, Grateful, Patient, Honest, Smart, Strong, Unique, Confident, and Loving! ⭐️

The Kindergarten–5th Grade STARS Afterschool Program begins August 17 and will be available from 3:15–5:30 PM on every full day of school.

⭐️ STARS Enrollment & Attendance
If you haven’t enrolled your child yet, you may do so at any time by completing the enrollment form and selecting the days they will attend.

If you have already completed an enrollment form but have not yet selected your child’s attendance days, please let us know as soon as possible.

Planning to use STARS on a drop-in basis? Simply call the elementary school office and let us know which days your child will be attending.

⭐️ Important Safety Reminder
Being safe is an important part of being our best selves! If your child is scheduled to attend STARS and is not present that afternoon, we will contact you to make sure they are safely accounted for.

Please share any special instructions or changes in plans with the elementary school office before 2:30 PM each day.

We’re looking forward to a year filled with learning, laughter, friendships, kindness, confidence, and plenty of afterschool adventures!

Most of all, we want every student to know that what makes them special is exactly what makes STARS shine. ⭐️

Looks like so much fun!

☀️ Summer Recreation Program Calendar Update! ☀️
To better coordinate with the Summer Meals Program, we have adjusted our Tuesday and Thursday program hours.
📅 Tuesdays & Thursdays
⏰ 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Participants who attend breakfast will transition directly from breakfast into our Summer Recreation Program, and we will take them to lunch when it's time to eat.
🏊 Wednesdays
⏰ 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Pool
We'll head to the Annex around 3:00 PM for a snack before returning to our activities.
We're looking forward to another fun summer filled with games, sports, crafts, swimming, and plenty of great memories! We can't wait to see everyone there! 😎☀️

We will be posting waivers that we will need for every child prior to or on the first day, if you will not be dropping your child off on the first day you need to turn in a form prior, to either the annex or Alicia Minks. Please keep your eyes out for that.

Today was the last day of STARS Cruisin’ the USA Summer Camp! 🇺🇸☀️

We wrapped up an amazing summer with a fun day at the Stafford Pool! A special thank you to the City of Stafford, Candi Teichman, Michelle Blaske, and all of the lifeguards for helping keep our students safe while they enjoyed some time in the water. 🏊‍♀️💦

Parents and families, thank you for entrusting us with your children this summer. We have truly enjoyed our adventures, learning experiences, and memories made together over the past few weeks!

As summer continues, keep celebrating America’s 250th birthday, enjoy family-time, and take advantage of the many wonderful programs and activities our community has to offer. 🇺🇸

Have a safe, fun-filled summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in August! ❤️🤍💙

While some of our classes were busy working at our lemonade stand fundraiser, the rest of our summer crew enjoyed an old-fashioned 4th of July celebration! 🇺🇸🍉

The students celebrated with watermelon, patriotic songs, streamer sticks, flags, and America 250 whistles as they learned about our nation's upcoming 250th birthday.

A special thank you to the Kanza Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, for providing the flags, and to Gayle Bigelow, Kanza Chapter Regent, for making and donating the 3D-printed America 250 whistles.

The students had a wonderful time celebrating America and showing their patriotic spirit!

Good luck, parents... those whistles are loud! 😄🇺🇸🎶

We are happy to report that we raised $505.23 at our lemonade stand yesterday for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation fundraiser! 🍋💛

Thank you to all of the family members, friends, and community supporters who generously donated to this wonderful cause and encouraged our students as they learned the importance of helping others who are battling cancer.

A special congratulations goes to our Kindergarten class, which was our top fundraising class this year! 🎉

We are especially proud to share that this year's fundraiser was our most successful yet, bringing our five-year fundraising total to $2,236.00. What an incredible accomplishment!

Thank you for helping us make a difference, one cup of lemonade at a time. We are so proud of our students and grateful for the continued support of our community. 💛🍋

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America, children (K-8) are invited to join the Second Lady's 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will read and track 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4. When your 12 books are finished, a form is submitted to receive a certificate, an America 250 bookmark, and a prize. You will also be entered for a chance to visit our nation's capital and the White House!! We are sending home information about this challenge!

This summer, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding, we are excited to invite all children (K-8) to join in the Second Lady’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will read and track 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4. Every book counts!
