Today we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave everything in service to this country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, cookouts, and time off — it is a day to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who never returned home.

As a Marine and on behalf of Lioness Defense, I ask that we take a moment to remember the fallen and the families who continue carrying that sacrifice every day. The freedoms we enjoy were purchased at a price that many paid with their lives.

Remember the fallen. Honor the sacrifice. Live the legacy.

🚨New Bill: SB 749: Assault fi****ms & certain ammunition feeding devices; purchase, sale, etc., prohibited, penalties.🚨

There's a lot to digest here, so here is the quick down and dirty version. If this law takes effect:

Virginians can still keep many currently owned rifles/magazines they already legally possess.

But after July 1, 2026:

- Most new sales/transfers of many AR-style fi****ms inside Virginia would become illegal.

- Magazines over 15 rounds could no longer be bought/sold/transferred in Virginia.

- Violations would generally be misdemeanors, but they could temporarily remove firearm rights.

🚨HB 1525: Fi****ms, certain; definitions, possession, transportation, or purchase by certain persons (Approved)🚨

➡️ Effective: July 1, 2026

➡️ Summary: It shall be unlawful for any person younger than 21 years of age to knowingly and intentionally purchase, possess, or transport a handgun or assault firearm

➡️ Violations: Class 1 misdemeanor

➡️ Exception: Does not apply when in defense of residence; accompanied by a guardian to the range, or hunting; or carrying out official duties in the Armed Forces.

🚨 VA Gun Law Update: HB 217: Purchase, sale, transfer, etc., of assault fi****ms and certain ammunition feeding devices prohibited; penalties. 🚨

As of today, April 22, 2026, the General Assembly passed it by for the day, which means the governor’s amendment did not go through, and the bill goes back to the governor, who can still sign or veto it. The bill is still active.

This is the bill that would ban the future purchase, sale, transfer, import, and manufacture of certain fi****ms defined as “assault fi****ms,” plus certain ammunition feeding devices, and restrict magazines that hold more than 15 rounds, while generally leaving lawfully owned items grandfathered.
