“The whole world opened up to me when I learned how to read.” Think about how powerful that quote is! Think about the feeling you had when you learned how to read; the excitement, the joy, your parent’s dread when they couldn't tell those white lies about what stuff said 😆
Every kid should be able to feel that joy and be able to take that journey. For some kids, the journey is easier or looks different. Reading might be an audiobook, braille, at 20+ inch font, or even at a slower pace and all of that is ok! With the right accommodations and services, all kids can have the world opened up to them.
