Bayless High School

The cooler weather has paired well with the start of Band Camp! The Marching Bronchos of Bayless Broncho Bands are laying the ground work for another successful fall season.

In 2022, Mason Shaver spoke at his Bayless graduation. In 2026, he was the chosen commencement speaker for Washington University’s undergraduate graduation!

Mason was very active in his time at WashU, both on campus and in St. Louis. His next step is law school, and we could not be more proud of him.

We recently received the results for students who took Advanced Placement tests this spring, which can translate to college credit when the scores are a four or a five (five is the highest score). We have continued to offer more and more classes to meet student need, and they did fantastic this year!

The following tests had students score a four or a five:
-US Government
-Precalculus
-Music Theory
-English Literature and Composition
-English Language and Composition
-2D Art and Design

Social Studies Teacher Emily Klein has been named a Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year! Her excellence in the classroom and the opportunities she provides for students are being recognized across the state with this award.

Klein is the fourth consecutive Bayless teacher to be named a Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year. She is also now eligible to be named the Missouri Teacher of the Year.

The application for Free and Reduced Priced Meals is now open for Bayless Families! Families who qualified in the past need to submit a new application every year, and the application is live in Infinite Campus. Happy Juneteenth from Bayless!

Bayless will be closed tomorrow, Friday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth Federal Holiday. There will be no Summer Journey or Summer School. For students attending summer programs, we are excited to welcome you back on June 22!

Before last night's Board of Education Meeting, a reception honoring Sally Wear was held in the Elementary library. A graduate of the Class of 1958, she worked at Bayless for many years and has been President of the Alumni Association since its founding. She is stepping down as president, but will continue to be around to help during the transition!
