ALREADY SO MANY LICE OUTBREAKS IN SCHOOLS THIS YEAR!
Why I started LPP: my wife and two daughters unfortunately got lice from school, and I was floored by the cost of a professional treatment at our local treatment center (around $750 total), none of which was covered by insurance.
I'd never dealt with this situation before and didn't know anyone who had, so I started talking with friends and family about our experience (cost and frustration of having to cancel practices and/or reschedule everything) and people came out of the woodwork with their own lice stories. It's way more common than anyone lets on, people just don't talk about it due to the social stigma.
That got me thinking about the families who can't afford treatment, and about the stigma that keeps people quiet about it in the first place, which is part of why it keeps getting passed around.
The goal of LPP is to make sure every family, regardless of financial situation, can get their child treated without sticker shock or cost being a barrier and to make lice something people feel comfortable talking about instead of hiding. It also cuts down the disruption at home and in the classroom.
To be clear, LPP doesn't perform any checks or removal ourselves, we just pay for the treatment anywhere you want to go when it happens.
