After graduating from high school, Haven Holmes enrolled in college, believing it was the right next step. But she soon realized she wanted a more hands-on path that would allow her to build practical skills and create a career she was passionate about.

That decision led her to Cincinnati Job Corps.

Haven began in the Welding program before discovering her passion for Facility Maintenance, where she gained experience in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and more. Her dedication and work ethic quickly set her apart. She earned the role of Trade Foreman, was selected as one of only three students to participate in an exclusive online HVAC training program—where she was the only female in the class—and earned both her OSHA 10 and N.A.T.E. certifications.

Now, just seven months into her Job Corps journey, Haven has been accepted into the highly competitive Advanced Electrical Technician training program in Miami, Florida, earning one of only 12 coveted spots.
