As founder of the EmpowerHer Tea Party, Soror Hughes continues to lift up St. Louis youth by fostering leadership, community, and career readiness. Through an incredible partnership with the Dress Up & Suit Up Workforce Initiative and Bespoke Apparel, young male student volunteers received fully custom-tailored suits—complete with their names stitched inside—preparing them for college, internships, and professional success.

Our Chapter Retreat was more than a gathering—it was an intentional time of learning, sisterhood, reflection, and memorable moments that reminded us of the power of coming together with purpose. We were especially blessed to bond and build meaningful connections with our Amicae friends and undergraduate chapter sisters, strengthening the beautiful bridge of sisterhood across generations.

A special thank you to our Retention Committee for organizing and facilitating this year’s retreat. Your thoughtfulness, preparation, and commitment created an experience that allowed our Sorors, Amicae friends, and undergraduate sisters to connect, grow, laugh, learn, and prepare for the year ahead. We appreciate you!

Now, Sorors and Friends… the retreat is over, but the real work begins!

As we move into this Sorority year, let’s carry the energy, knowledge, and sisterhood from our retreat into everything we do. Our President has given us a clear charge: stay informed, communicate, and show up with purpose and intention.
