Missouri lawmakers are currently discussing a $51 MILLION cut to childcare funding.

If this happens, the impact will not only affect childcare providers, it will affect every community, business, and working family in Missouri.

Here’s what happens when childcare disappears, even for just one day:

🏥 Hospitals become understaffed
Nurses and healthcare workers cannot show up for their shifts.

🚓 Police departments become short staffed
Public safety response times slow down.

🍽 Restaurants close or reduce hours
Workers cannot report to their jobs.

🛍 Retail businesses shut down early
Businesses lose revenue.

🏫 Schools are disrupted
Parents cannot work, and families are forced to scramble for care.

🎨💚 Toddler Paint Day at Little Precious Angels! 💚🎨

Today our toddlers had so much fun during Paint Day in our Art Area!

With paintbrushes in hand and lots of excitement, our little artists explored colors, textures, and creativity while painting their beautiful green masterpieces. Activities like this help toddlers develop fine motor skills, creativity, and confidence while learning to share supplies and take turns with their friends.

Art is such a wonderful way for children to express their imagination and build important early learning skills, and of course, it brings lots of smiles along the way! 😊

🌱🐛 Sensory Play + Teamwork in Our Preschool Classroom! 🐛🌱

Today our little learners rolled up their sleeves and got their hands a little messy during Sensory Play!

As part of our March theme: Teamwork, the children worked together to explore soil and dig for pretend worms. While they were searching, scooping, and discovering, something amazing was happening — they were learning how to cooperate, share tools, and help one another.

Through activities like this, children are developing life long skills..

What looks like simple play is actually helping children build:

🤝 Teamwork and cooperation
✋ Fine motor skills
🌱 Curiosity about nature and the world around them

We watched them encourage each other, take turns digging, and celebrate when someone found a “worm.” These moments may look like play, but they are building confidence, communication, and friendships.

That’s where Regional Community Partners (RCPs) come in. As part of Missouri Childhood Resource & Referral, RCPs support families at no cost by helping with child care subsidy applications, renewals, and questions, in person or virtually.

When forms are completed correctly the first time, delays are reduced and care stays consistent.

Recently, one provider connected two families with their local RCP during renewal season. Both applications were approved quickly, and the children stayed enrolled without interruption. 🙌
