When Dr. Tanya Roth launched the inaugural "Women in the Modern World" class, she and her students embarked on a global journey to examine how women's rights have evolved since the late 19th century.
For their final capstone project, the class drew inspiration from the history of independent publishing to create their own zine: "girls. 8 volumes of women’s issues throughout the globe." The final product explores everything from women in sports and film to global health and beauty standards.
We are incredibly proud of these students for setting the bar so high and challenging us to question the status quo. Click the link below to read their collaborative work!

At the Class of 2030 Celebration, Sana Raza ’30 shared remarks with her peers and their families. She said, "Middle School didn’t just give us an education; it gave us a place where we could meet the people who would change us. It gave us memories we’ll carry for the rest of our lives. It gave us friendships that I truly believe will last beyond these walls."

During the last week of school, Upper School Dean Daniel George visited the rising freshman Class of 2030 to share some essential high school wisdom.
He challenged the eighth graders to embrace their growing independence, build strong character, and stay open to unexpected friendships. To kick off their four-year journey together, the students put Dean George on the "Hot Seat" for a fun Q&A session and shared a custom intro video with their plans and dreams.
Welcome to high school, Class of 2030! A fresh start and new freedom await!

"I didn’t realize the purpose for our early departure until we were halfway up the side of Lion’s Head mountain in Cape Town. It was not to get a good start on the day or to beat the traffic on the trail, rather to get us to a point of no return before we realized that we were going to die," said JK-12 English and Language Arts Department Chair Lynn Mittler, the Class of 2026's chosen faculty speaker at Commencement.
She spoke of her experience as a chaperone on the Winter Term South Africa trip, the fears that accompanied it, and the importance of community. Read her full remarks at the link below!
