We work with educators to strengthen the partnership between school and home, so children feel supported, connected, and ready to learn. HOME WORKS!

trains, supports, and pays teachers to make home visits to students and their families and works with teachers to implement parent engagement strategies. Research consistently confirms that family engagement in education is a powerful predictor of children’s success in school and life.

Pilot Grove Elementary and Home Works came together for a special evening filled with good food, connection, and a little movie-night fun! 180 students, families, and staff enjoyed Chick-fil-A, learned more about Home Works, and heard about the school’s goals for the year and ways families can help support those goals and their children.

After a fantastic Family Dinner where families and school staff continued to build relationships, attendees settled in for a movie night together! 🍿🎬

We love seeing schools and families come together to kick off the school year as a connected community!

Families at Flance Early Learning Center recently came together for their very first Home Works Family Dinner! ❤️ Parents were excited to have the opportunity to connect, share their views and feedback on the program, and celebrate the growth they’ve seen in their children’s development and social skills. After some wonderful discussions, Flance’s chef served up an incredible home-cooked meal of fried chicken, string beans, mashed potatoes, and cornbread - and families were even able to take some leftovers home with them! 🍗

We’re excited to begin this journey with the Flance community and look forward to creating many more opportunities for families and teachers to connect, share their voices, and build relationships throughout the year. 🌱

We had so much fun partnering with River City Outdoors to bring Confluence Academy - Old North Campus families together for an evening at the boathouse. Families enjoyed free access to pedal boats, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards, along with a delicious meal from Jimmy Johns. 🛶 It was a wonderful chance for families to try something new, spend time together, and enjoy all that our St. Louis community has to offer!

Even with the September heat, David Barton Elementary families came together for their first Home Works Family Dinner of the year. After moving the event from the park to the school, families still showed up ready to connect, meet their teachers, and learn more about how Home Works can strengthen school-family partnerships and support learning at home. ❤️

Students and parents also shared their Home Works experiences, and many families signed up for a Home Works visit that evening! 🏠

It was a wonderful night of connection, community, and building relationships for the year ahead. 🌟

🎉 Confluence Academy - Old North kicked off the school year with an incredible Home Works Family Dinner!

More than 250 Old North students and families came together for Back to School Night and a Home Works Family Dinner, sharing a meal with friends and staff while getting ready for the year ahead. ❤️

The evening was packed with opportunities to connect. Families explored community resources, met representatives from local organizations, and took home helpful resources and hands-on learning activities.

Families were also welcomed into classrooms, where teachers, students, and family members shared their experiences with Home Works and family engagement. Together, they talked about their hopes and dreams for the school year, ways to strengthen school-family connections, and how the school can help break down barriers for families.

It was a night full of connection, conversation, and community. We’re excited to see all that’s ahead for Old North this school year! 🌟

🎉 What a way to kick off the school year!

Bunceton / Cooper County R-IV School District families came together for their first Home Works Family Dinner of the 2026–27 school year, and 80% of students and families joined us! ❤️

Families, students, and staff shared a meal, caught up with one another, and celebrated the start of a brand-new school year. But what stood out most was the joy of being together.

We loved hearing families share how much they enjoy being part of Home Works and seeing that sense of connection throughout the evening. There’s already so much energy and enthusiasm for the year ahead, and we’re excited to see all that’s in store. 🌟

Heading to San Diego for ? So are we! 🌴

Home Works CEO Ashli Florek and Director of Program & Community Engagement Lauren Campbell will be joining educators, family engagement leaders, and changemakers from across the country at the 2026 National Assembly for Family Engagement in Schools - and they'll be taking the stage as presenters! 🎤

Their session, "Stories, Not Just Statistics: Rethinking Data in Family Engagement" will explore how stories and data can work together to create a fuller, more meaningful picture of family engagement.

If you haven't grabbed your ticket yet, now's the time! Come learn, connect, exchange ideas, and - of course - come say hi to Ashli and Lauren while you're there!
