Colorado Rockies broadcasters Drew and Zach Goodman were joined by Cardinal’s broadcaster Chip Caray at the School of Communications Friday to tape material for our Sports Communication degree program. Zach, a 2024 sports communication graduate, returned for the first time since becoming a MLB broadcaster. There is nothing better than celebrating students living their dreams.

High school students from mid-Missouri came to Webster last week for a workshop to learn how to design and create content for their school's yearbooks. Here, School of Communications Interim Dean Aaron AuBuchon shows the broadcast studio during a tour of the Sverdrup Building. The workshop was conducted by Josten's Yearbook and hosted by the school.

It's easier now for Jefferson College graduates with AAS degrees to come to the School of Communications to finish their four year BA degrees. Webster administrators signed special transfer agreements during a ceremony yesterday. Eligible SOC degrees are in the comments.

Congratulations to Trish Muyco-Tobin, faculty advisor for SOC student media, who was named Advisor of the Year by the Missouri College Media Association, at its 2026 annual convention this weekend. The Webster Journal earned 24 awards and the Ampersand magazine, won five awards. In the photo, left to right, Prof. Muyco-Tobin; Styx Nappier, Journal managing editor; and Emerson Goelz, Ampersand editor in chief, and Journal visuals editor.
