Here's #2! It's entitled, "My Poetical Side". I wrote this poem when I was circa 15 or 16 years old. The illustration is by Ms. Taki Richards. Taki is an outstanding multimedia artist!
This is page 6 of my , entitled, "Stuff I Wrote From My Heart". For some reason, I'm finally ready to publish it.
Please give your honest criticism about my poem. And, comments like, "Well, I don't know because I don't really read poetry" DO NOT work. Just read it and tell me what you think.

Curating Poetry & Prose
07/02/2024
So... I was supposed to this yesterday (which ended 17 minutes ago), but I had a late start. But, here's my poem that I wrote as a part of a daily poem writing in July 2024. Please feel free to leave your honest opinion and criticism. And, comments like "I don't really know how to read poetry" do not count because all you have to do is read the poem. Nothing fancy--- I promise. So, here's my poem that should have been published on July 1st, 2024:
"I am a poet"
I write words that people want to say
and don't want to say
Sometimes, I think about the ways the words make me/us/them feel:
sometimes, I don't
I try to put together just the right words, [and] the write words to say
And, other times, I write nothing and say what I say from my heart and not my mind
And, sometimes I say what I say from my mind and not my heart
Still, I say what I say with the meaning that I meant to say it with
In rhymes and pentameters and,
without metaphor and imagery:
But, sometimes, with them
No particular order, or structure (i.e., free form)
And, certainly, in ABA and ABC order
And as cinquains and Haikus
And, as traditional and as well-metered and well-structure verse.
Yes, I write poems and you may or might not like them/readthem/knowthem
I write poems because
I am a poet.
