Day 5 at STC 🌟

For our final day at STC one week ago today, attendees attended the final masterclass led by Christopher Bassett, experienced the Faculty Excerpt presentation with guest tuba Jose Martinez from the National Orchestra of Spain, and performed their final concert of quartets and choir pieces.

STC 2026 was the best STC yet. Thank you too all who attended and made it a special place to be. We’re already planning for and looking ahead to next year’s STC with some incredible new surprises and additions coming your way!

Day 4 at STC featured a side-by-side class with our faculty, masterclasses from Dr B and Christopher Bassett, a lecture presentation from Mark Kellogg, our massed choir dress rehearsal, and the annual STC BBQ/fireside panel discussion out in the mountains of New Mexico. We even made a new friend while out in the woods!

STC Day 3 Recap ✅

After a full day of masterclasses, quartet coachings, lectures, and choir rehearsals, we were treated to an incredible recital featuring our faculty, the Santa Fe Opera trombone section, and the Southwest premiere of Timothy Higgins’ “Nonet” of which STC was a co-commissioner.

STC Day 1 Recap ✅

Welcoming our largest cohort yet to STC, we kicked off STC 2026 with masterclasses from Jonathan Randazzo, Adam Rainey, and Dr Buckholz, a massed choir rehearsal onstage in Keller Hall, a lecture helping us understand how e shipment choices help us play at our best from Christan Griego, and our opening Faculty Recital.

We are elated to welcome the Santa Fe Opera low brass section to STC this summer as additional guests!

Joining the line up for a large ensemble performance on our Thursday night Faculty Recital and also for our Faculty Excerpt Presentation on Saturday, this wonderful section comprised of Ian Maser (Principal Trombone Santa Fe Opera), Joe Dubas (Principal Trombone Fort Worth Symphony), Riley Giampaolo (Bass Trombone Indianapolis Symphony), and Jose Martinez (Principal Tuba National Orchestra of Spain) will add to the magic of STC.
