What an incredible honor to join the Cape Girardeau Evening Optimist Club as they celebrate 100 years of Optimism and service! 💙💛

As Governor of the East Missouri District, I was honored to be part of this historic celebration of a club that has been serving youth and its community since October 21, 1926.

A special thank you to Missouri State Representative John Voss for presenting a resolution recognizing this remarkable milestone, and to Cheryl Brenn, Executive Director of Optimist International, whose words about legacy were such an important reminder that what we do as Optimists today becomes the foundation for those who will serve tomorrow.

And then there was Charlie Wiles, Past President of Optimist International, who gave us plenty to think about, and plenty of bird stories! 🐦 After 100 years, it seems only fitting to say that Cape Evening Optimists continue to spread their wings, inspire others, and soar into their next century of service.

One hundred years is more than an anniversary. It is a legacy. Generations of Optimists choosing to give their time, talents, and hearts to bringing out the best in kids, our communities, and ourselves.

Thank you for allowing me to share in this special celebration as East Missouri District Governor. Congratulations, Cape Evening Optimists. Here’s to the next 100 years! 💙💛
