For decades, the conversation has focused on how to teach children to read.
An equally important question has received far less attention:
What happens when they don’t?
Lifeline2Literacy was founded on the belief that literacy is too important to be treated as merely an aspiration. When children are denied meaningful access to reading, families deserve support, advocacy, and accountability.
Because literacy is not just an educational issue.
It is a matter of opportunity, equity, and civil rights.

Somewhere in St. Louis, a child is staring at a page that won't open up to them.
Not because the magic isn't there — but because no one has handed them the key.
That's what Lifeline 2 Literacy does. We advocate so every child has the right to read, the right to access the magic of books, and the right to a future built on words they can call their own.
Today is Give STL Day. ☕ The cost of your favorite beverage could be the start of someone's story.
Books are a uniquely portable magic. Help us put them in more hands.

A child who can’t read confidently often learns to hide it.
Avoidance. Silence. “I forgot.”
Sometimes, even behavior problems.
But reading struggles can change with the right support.
People care. 💙
Now let’s turn awareness into action.
Tomorrow is , but you can support LifeLine2Literacy right now and help families access literacy support and advocacy.

Many parents never realize the school is tracking far more than grades.
If your child has struggled, ask for the full educational record — not just summaries.
We made a free template letter to help.

As we heard in testimony this week during the open due process hearing, teachers who have students with reading difficulties tend to use an eclectic approach to reading.
The students who need the most structure are too often getting the least. That's not a teaching problem — it's a system problem. And it's the kids who pay the price.

What Teachers Think About the 'Science of Reading'
A survey of teachers’ beliefs and knowledge about the “science of reading” has provoked commentary. But surveys can’t tell us what’s actually going on in classrooms.

Literacy is a basic civil right.
And yet, too many families are still told to wait… or that nothing more can be done.
At LifeLine2Literacy, we work with families who refuse to accept that answer.
We advocate.
We guide.
We help connect them to solutions that actually build reading.
📅 Give STL Day is May 7
Today, we’re not asking you to donate.
We’re asking you to decide whether you believe in this.
Because when May 7 comes…
your decision can help change a child's future.
👉 Donations open May 7 for Give STL Day.
👉 Every gift helps families access advocacy, guidance, and real literacy solutions.
