North Side Community School North Side Community School is a top-performing Pre-K–8 charter in St. Louis City.

We offer high rigor, holistic care, an extended day, and a four-week Summer Learning Institute, empowering our Knights to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. North Side has three academic goals: To be proficient in communication arts and math, to be knowledgeable at age/grade appropriate levels, and to develop the attitudes and exhibit the behaviors of good students. Our program in achieving these goals is marked by the following characteristics:

• Clear mission, goals, and values, shared by teachers, students and parents
• Strong educational leadership by the principals
• High expectations for all students, teachers, and parents
• A core curriculum and well articulated, integrated instructional program
• Time and energy devoted to teaching and learning, with a reduction of time and attention on secondary subjects/activities
• A school climate and culture that support the mission, create a sense of community, and encourage learning
• Engagement of parents in the education of their children
• Effective procedures and methods of regular assessment
• Small class size (15-18/classroom)
• Differentiated instruction guided by assessment

Our elementary and middle school students had the joy of sharing breakfast with their grandparents and special loved ones. From smiles and stories to delicious bites around the table, it was a beautiful reminder of the power of family, connection, and community.
