PreK-8, Experiential Education. Founded in 1963, The College School is thriving and leading Independent School in the St. Louis area.

We believe in an experiential education, where children are connected to authentic lessons. Children learn to become leaders, collaborators, stewards, risk-takers, and critical thinkers. With a focus on academic excellence, we also believe that some of the most valuable lessons can be found in an arduous, yet safe, outdoor adventure education curriculum.

Last week, Colin Walsh designed and painted this incredible mural with our campers. A celebration of curiosity, community, and courageous exploration. Thank you for showing our campers what collaboration and artistry look like.

Summer is pure magic at The College School! ☀️🌊

We kicked off our Summer Camps season with sunshine, sandy toes, and a full week of beach-themed adventures. From pool days and water games to creek exploration and playtime on our very own beach at LaBarque, campers are diving into summer the best way we know how — outside and together!

This year’s Early Childhood learning at The College School was all about families, fossils, and fun!

Our youngest learners followed their curiosities in beautiful and unexpected directions: Big Bend explored the meaning of family and belonging, Newport students became fossil experts and created their very own fossil museum, and Kindergarteners discovered the joy of games and collaboration by building a Little Free Game Library for the TCS community.

These child-led, Reggio-inspired projects reminded us that when children are trusted to follow their interests, incredible learning happens. Through research, storytelling, design, play, and exploration, students became scientists, architects, artists, collaborators, problem-solvers, and community builders.

If we could bottle up that spring trip feeling, we’d do it in a heartbeat.

But that’s the beautiful thing about The College School, there’s always another adventure to look forward to. From the wilds of the Ozarks to the streets of Chicago and myriad places in between, our students returned with memories, connections, and lessons that will last a lifetime.

And for our soon-to-be graduates, the greatest adventures still lie ahead.
