"My name is Sarah Winslow and I am excited to be teaching third grade at Forder Elementary. I have been teaching for 10 years and have taught grades 1-4 over those years. However, third grade is my favorite grade! When not at school my family (my husband and 3 almost 4 year old son) enjoy exploring St. Louis. A few of our favorite spots to go are the St. Louis Zoo, Magic House, any park, and the library! I am excited to become a part of the community and share my love of learning with all of you!"

"Hi! My name is Ms. Vitt, and I am so excited for the opportunity to work with you and your child this year! It’s going to be a wonderful year full of adventure, and I can’t wait to explore new ideas and discover fun ways of learning together. While this is my first year at Forder, I have been teaching since 2020. My background includes 2 years in K-1st grade Special Education and 4 years in Kindergarten. Teaching is my absolute passion, and I am so grateful to be joining the Forder family! Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, baking, hiking, and going horseback riding. I can’t wait to get the school year started!"

"Hi! My name is Erin Wentzel and I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade at Forder this year! This will be my 10th year of teaching and 5th grade has always been one of my favorite to teach. My husband is a Mehlville graduate and we have a son who is 17 months old and a baby girl is on the way in January! I am so excited for this school year and I am looking forward to connecting with everyone in the Forder community!"

"Hi! My name is Rebecca Morfeld and I am thrilled to be the librarian at Forder Elementary this school year! I have been in education for 21 years. I started out as a substitute teacher in several school districts, then became a librarian assistant at a middle school, which led me to becoming a library media specialist, which I have done for the past four years. I’m an avid reader, crafter, sewist, and all around hobby collector. I’ve been married to my husband for 35 years and we have two adult daughters. We also have a 13 year old dachshund and 5 backyard chickens.

One of my favorite quotes is “There is no such thing as a child who hates to read; there are only children who have not found the right book.”- Frank Serafini. I am looking forward to helping the students of Forder Elementary find the right books! "

Stop by Bernard Middle School (1054 Forder Road) from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. to meet new friends and school district staff, get ready for the 2026-2027 school year, explore offerings from area businesses, and enjoy a petting zoo and craft activities for kids! We hope to see you there! 💙

If you haven’t purchased school supplies yet, this weekend is the perfect time to do so! The Missouri Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is from Friday, August 7, to Sunday, August 9. ✏️📚🎒

This weekend, the state sales tax will be waived on items like clothing, school supplies, computers and calculators. This includes purchases made both in store and online!

Supply lists for the 2026-2027 school year are posted on your child’s school website under “School Information.” You can print or bookmark a supply list, shop online or at the store of your choice.
