SLU Public Health and Social Justice hosted a successful Doctoral Research Symposium last Friday!
1st place for oral presentation went to Daphne Lew, (PHD-PHS-BST) for her project titled,“Identifying distinct latent classes of adverse childhood experiences among US children and their relationship with childhood internalizing disorders”.
2nd place went to Steve Scroggins, MPH, (PHD-PHS-BSHE) for his project titled, “At the intersection of mental health and HIV medical adherence among Ryan White clients in the St. Louis region”.

Did you know the Doerr Center is housed within the School of Social Work at SLU? Starting this academic year, the Doerr Center will partner with the School of Social Work to offer a course centered around a pertinent social justice issue. This year's course will focus on homelessness in St. Louis, challenging students to apply a social justice lens to this important topic.

On September 18th, the Doerr Center welcomed Lloyd Pendleton, who helped reduce chronic homelessness in Utah by 91%, as the Social Justice Night keynote speaker. Special thanks to our panelists and the organizations that made our agency fair a success!
