Gateway Atelier is a formal, four-year program rooted in direct observation and the traditions of classical realism.
We have regular classes, dedicated faculty, and a growing body of students committed to the daily work of drawing, painting, and sculpture — whether through full-time study, part-time commitment, or individual classes that connect into the broader life of the studio.

Gateway Atelier of Classical Art in St Louis has a 4 year classical art program that uses the 700 year old traditions of drawing, painting, and sculpture that the old masters learned. We also have individual classes, and workshops with nationally acclaimed artists.

Gateway Atelier student works on a cast drawing. Cast drawing is a way of developing the eye to see values and shadow shapes.
