Tuesday evening the Webster University Department of Nursing celebrated our graduating MSN students at the Webster University Mastering the Art of Nursing conference. Four keynote speakers and 38 poster presenters showcased their work!

MONL 2023 RISING NURSE LEADER

Brooke Brothers, MSN, R.N., CPN, Nurse Manager at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital – St. Louis, was honored at MONL's Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon on November 1.

Brooke Brothers, MSN, R.N., CPN, has been a nurse in the Transitional Care Unit at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital since 2003. In her role, she works to transform the experience for patients and their families when transferring out of the intensive care unit to the stepdown unit, acting as a bridge and ensuring team members shared a model for each patient’s plan of care. Since 2021, she has served as nurse manager for the unit. Brothers co-chairs the hospital’s Peripheral Infiltration and Extravasation Team. The rate of PIVIEs with moderate harm decreased from 0.29 events per 1,000 patient days to zero. She also co-chairs the hospital’s Mission Action Team. She has brought her passion to events such as Hospital Week, Mission in Motion Awards, community food drives, Earth Day activities and leads the recognition program for ancillary team members. As a former bedside nurse and care coordinator, she knows and models the values that increase communication and deliver results within her area of responsibility and among other departments and disciplines.
