We are so grateful for the men and women from Greentree Church who put in many hours alongside a team of dedicated SCCS staff to reconstruct old garden beds in the front of our school! These are going to last a very long time, and look so great. Drive by campus (right by Tower Grove Park) and see for yourself! 🌱

In a Charlotte Mason education, learning follows the rhythms of the world around us.

From Preschool through 8th grade, students study the changing seasons through nature walks, observation, journaling, literature, science, and hands-on experiences. As they notice the first signs of spring, the colors of autumn, or the quiet beauty of winter, children learn to pay attention and delight in the world God has made.

There is always something new to discover when we slow down and notice the beauty of each season. 🍁🌿🌸☀️

🎨📚 One of the many Charlotte Mason distinctives woven throughout school life is Picture Study.

From Preschool through 8th grade, students are introduced to the works of great artists and invited to slow down, observe carefully, and delight in beauty. Rather than rushing through facts, Picture Study encourages children to notice details, develop attention, and cultivate an appreciation for art that lasts a lifetime.

Through repeated exposure to masterworks, students build visual literacy, form meaningful connections, and experience the joy of learning through wonder and discovery.

Beauty matters, and these quiet moments of observation are one of the many ways a Charlotte Mason education nurtures the whole child.
