Mr. Yasin’s math students worked very hard during Summer School! They have been gifted with a jump start to the new year!

Our young scientists explored the difference between physical and chemical changes through hands-on investigations! 🔬

Using observations and evidence, students examined clues like bubbles, sound, and color changes to determine what type of change had occurred. A fun day filled with curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific discovery!

GSA Administrators, Board Members and Aspiring Leaders spent the past few days at Concept Schools Leadership Summit just outside of Chicago.

They worked with colleagues from sister schools in the network and attended many informational sessions to help prepare for the new year.

CONGRATULATIONS to all Concept Schools Teachers of the Year, especially GSA’s own Ayse Erdogan!

Mrs. Erdogan teaches math at the High School and is a part of the Aspiring Leaders Program through Concept.

Ms. McCann was so happy to meet up with Mr. Tufan at the Concept Schools Leadership Summit!

Mr. Tufan started off at Smiley and then completed 6 years as a Computer Science Teacher and IT manager at GSA South and GSA Fyler before heading to Chicago.

He is now at Concept Schools as Director of Information Technology.

Our Science class traveled through the solar system as we learned about the eight planets and their unique features. To celebrate our learning, students designed amazing Saturn models using CDs to represent its famous rings. A fun hands-on activity that brought space science to life! 🪐💫

Summer School students got to end the session by bowling at Epiphany Lanes!

This week, our young scientists explored the life cycle of plants and discovered what seeds need to grow. To bring our learning to life, each student planted seeds in a CD case greenhouse, where they'll observe root growth, germination, and plant development over the coming weeks. Learning through observation is the best kind of science! 🌿🔍📚
