My name is Jacci and I'm a former full-time art teacher with a Master's Degree in Education from Fontbonne University in St. Currently I am a Teaching Artist working with the non-profit organization Springboard St. Louis Art Fair. After having a child of my own in 2014, I noticed a lack of availabilty of classes for kids under 3 in the St. Louis area, especially in the visual arts. From my studies and teaching experience, I know that babies and toddlers benefit from the opportunity to explore the arts. Fine motor skill development, sensory exploration, and the opportunity to begin making choices based on personal preference are just a few of the ways these classes will support your child's physical and creative growth. Not to mention the opportunity to experience a variety of materials in a space where someone else does the clean-up! All materials used in my classes are safe for children that may be still exploring with their mouths. I often create class materials from scratch in my kitchen using common cooking ingredients such as flour, corn starch and natural food dye.
