SBAP Kids and Teens

This multi-day project has been so much fun to watch unfold! We learned how to wheel throw a bowl, create a narrative for the sculptural elements that we then added to the bowls and finished with colored underglazes and carvings to really make a statement. Some students chose their favorite story and others chose to represent a story they had written.

We offer programs that are flexible in terms of schedule, age range, and skill level. This inclusivity helps ensure that a wide variety of people from our community can participate and benefit from our art programs!

Our classes allow participants to express themselves artistically, whether through creating functional pieces (like mugs or bowls) or more sculptural forms. SBAP's staff is made up of local artists offering diverse styles and techniques in pottery.

SBAP's studio is a motivated art classroom that is managed in a nurturing way to support young artists in their journey to center their mind, body and creativity.

Our Friday Kids Pottery Class has been busy creating all sorts of project; from heel thrown pieces to sculpted animals, trinket boxes to coil pots and more. They shared with me that while they enjoyed everything they learned - wheel throwing and trinket boxes challenged them the most and they really loved bringing their personal sculptures to life.
