Looking for a fun activity for your child this week? We have you covered! 🦕🦖🦕

🦖 Dinosaur Rescue Sensory Adventure

Story

“All of the dinosaurs have escaped and need your help! Can you rescue them, clean them up, feed them, and get them safely back to Dinosaur Island?”

The story gives a purpose to every activity, which helps many children stay engaged.

Set up four simple stations:

🦕 1. Dig Site (20–30 minutes)
Hide toy dinosaurs in:

* Kinetic sand
* Dry rice
* Beans
* Shredded paper
* Play sand

Provide:

* Paintbrushes
* Scoops
* Spoons
* Cups
* Toy shovels

Children dig carefully to rescue each dinosaur.

🫧 2. Dino Spa (20 minutes)
Fill a tub with warm, bubbly water.

Let them:

* Wash the dinosaurs
* Scrub with toothbrushes
* Spray them with water bottles
* Dry them with towels

Many children find repetitive washing and scrubbing very calming.

🥬 3. Feed the Dinosaurs (20–30 minutes)
Cut out colored paper “food.”

Examples:

* Green leaves
* Red berries
* Blue fish

Ask them to:

* Sort by color
* Count pieces
* Feed each dinosaur a certain number

This naturally builds counting, matching, and fine-motor skills.

🏃 4. Dinosaur Obstacle Course (20–30 minutes)
Pretend to:

* Stomp like a T. rex
* Tiptoe like a Velociraptor
* Crawl through a “cave” (a blanket over chairs)
* Jump over “lava” (pillows or pool noodles)
* Balance across a tape line

Adding movement can help children refocus and regulate their energy.

Finish with a Celebration

Award is a simple “Junior Dinosaur Rescuer” certificate or sticker. Focus on effort and curiosity rather than speed or perfection.

Why this activity works so well

It naturally includes:

* ✔️ Sensory exploration (touch, sight, sounds, even smell if using herbs or scented bubbles)
* ✔️ Fine-motor practice
* ✔️ Gross-motor movement
* ✔️ Imaginative play
* ✔️ Language opportunities
* ✔️ Counting and sorting
* ✔️ Frequent chances to succeed

Best of all, there isn’t a “right” way to do it. Every child can participate at their own pace, making it a fun, confidence-building experience rather than something that feels like school.

I think this is one of those activities that kids remember for a long time because they aren’t just playing—they become the heroes in the story.

Looking for a fun activity for your child this week? ☀️ we have you covered!

What you’ll need:

* Muffin tin, bowls, or plastic containers
* Water
* Small plastic toys (animals, dinosaurs, letters, numbers, or colorful pom-poms)
* Food coloring (optional)
* Salt
* Spray bottle or cup of warm water
* Child-safe spoon, paintbrush, or small toy hammer

How to play:

1. Freeze the small treasures inside containers of water overnight.❄️
2. Take the frozen blocks outside on a warm day.
3. Give your child tools to rescue the treasures by spraying warm water, sprinkling salt, or gently tapping the ice.
4. Celebrate each treasure they discover!

Learning opportunities:

* Fine motor skills
* Hand-eye coordination
* Problem-solving
* Sensory exploration
* Science (talk about melting, freezing, and temperatures)
* Language skills by naming colors, animals, letters, or counting the treasures

Make it even more fun:

* Hide plastic letters and spell your child’s name.
* Freeze toy sea creatures and pretend to be marine biologists.🐳
* Create a rainbow by using different food coloring in each container.🌈
* Time the rescue and see if they can beat their own record.

This activity is easy to adapt. Children who enjoy sensory play can take their time exploring, while those who like a challenge can use different tools or search for specific treasures. ☀️

Looking for a fun summer activity for your child this week? We have you covered! ⬇️
🌞 Summer Scavenger Hunt

Create a list with pictures and simple words:

* 🌼 Yellow flower
* 🪨 Smooth rock
* 🐞 Ladybug
* 🌳 Pinecone
* 🦋 Butterfly

Have them read each clue, then check it off as they find it.
Add items, switch up items, and extra bonus if they have a Polaroid camera 📸 to snap a picture of each item they find. Instance picture book for them. Let them lead and guide this activity. Sit back and watch the confidence grow!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandpas, stepdads, and father figures who lead with love, patience, and faith.

Today we thank God for the men who encourage us, pray for us, and point us to Christ through their everyday actions.
