Beloved science teacher Todd Gienke officially is retiring (for the second time!) after 34.5 years at Whitfield. Thursday, May 14th at 6 PM: the juniors invite all alumni to come see The 2026 Story of America | DNA of a Nation | Citizen, Community, Country. This year's project asks students to explore different narratives of America through their English and History classes as well as through personal interviews they have conducted, grappling with various perspectives, exploring subtleties, and, ultimately, constructing their own narratives, or stories, of America. Groups collaborate with graphic design students to arrange and display their work. The culmination, unlike years past, is student-led seminar discussions that require community participation; students, teachers, parents, artists, and (hopefully) you will join in the conversation and add your voice to the discussion of the Story of America. No RSVP required!
