Hosting an Au Pair also teaches your kids about other cultures, languages, and helps them to view the world differently! If you're into that! :)
4.
I provide year-round support to host families and au pairs, and also talk to families considering the program to help them determine if Cultural Care Au Pair is the right childcare solution for them. Au Pairs provide 45 hours of flexible live in childcare and will handle all of the childcare responsibilities you would do as a parent: everything from waking up/putting to bed, getting kids ready for
school, preparing meals, feeding & bathing, grocery shopping, driving to activities, laundry, light housekeeping, helping with homework, changing sheets, and come up with wonderful fun activities for your kids. Tons of families have decided to host an au pair instead of hiring a nanny or babysitter, and these are the top reasons why:
1. The affordability of paying an average of just $380/week, which is great considering the price of in home childcare, daycare centers, and nannies or babysitters! There are payment plans and other options like hosting an au pair that is already in country that bring this price down also if you’re concerned about financing your au pair.
2. The flexibility of setting your own schedule for up to 45 hours per week of childcare--this can include early mornings, evenings, even weekends, and you can change the schedule each week! You may even be able to sleep in one morning! :)
3. The opportunity to expose your family to a new language and culture and to share the American culture! Maybe select a candidate that has a background in a certain language, like French or Spanish, so they can teach your kids? Cultural Care is the largest but it is also the only Agency that recruits and screens their own candidates and doesn't use 3rd party recruiters or agents! Our au pairs are First Aid and CPR certified by the American Red Cross as soon as they arrive from their home countries. They have their own health insurance, international driver’s license, with experiences ranging from newborns, toddlers, school aged, and special needs children!
5. There are tax benefits, too! I can send you more information on specific tax incentives if you would like! Best of all, they are valid visa holders of the US so it makes traveling with your Au Pair easy! As a Host Family (US citizen or Permanent Resident), your requirements are a private bedroom for the au pair and an opportunity to include them as a member of your family for years to come!
