What Does it Mean to Be Faithful with Kelly Baader 10/12/2021

What Does It Mean to Be Faithful?

On the Fully Funded Podcast this week, I had the incredible privilege of talking with our special guest, Kelly Baader, on this topic.

She absolutely blew my mind when she shared the one word that should come to mind when it comes to faith.

Kelly lives in Switzerland and serves as a mentor to Christian marketplace leaders across the world.

Here are some of the things Kelly touches on:

• The 5 invisible areas that affect your life and business
• Switching the discussion from how much you want to make to how much you want to give
• Inviting Jesus to your business meetings
• How giving and receiving are emotional things and we have different reasons for giving to different causes
• Why you don’t need everybody to support your cause and a small group that aligns with your goal is ideal

FFP 32 - The Power of Writing with Kent Sanders 10/05/2021

If you've struggled with social media, email or communicating your message, check out this week's podcast episode with my friend, Kent Sanders.

Kent is a former college professor turned ghostwriter and writing coach. Kent believes nothing is more powerful than a written story and that books are one of the few forms of magic we have left.

In this episode we talk about:

- Why it’s important to help others with writing and storytelling
- Why storytelling is vital and how it’s the way God communicates with us
- How to get started writing on a blank page
- Why you shouldn’t be apologetic in your ask, and be bold instead
- What works vs. what doesn’t work while fundraising

P.S. If you enjoy this episode you may want to head on over to Kent's podcast and listen to the episode where he interviews me on the scarcity mindset. I'll put the link in the comments below.

I made a pretty BIG announcement on this week's "final" episode of the Fundraising Freedom Podcast. Yah, you heard that right, the FINAL episode of the show (at least for now!).

As things have slowed down a bit in 2020, I've realized that I'm being called to lean in more to serve the hundreds of students who have already joined me inside Fully Funded Academy and the organizations joining Fully Funded Orgs.

You can listen to the entire story here: http://maryvallonishow.com/episode-181-what-it-looks-like-to-focus-your-vision/

Also, if you've enjoyed the Fundraising Freedom Podcast and want to keep working together, be sure to check out my training replay from this week and consider joining me inside of Fully Funded Orgs.

This week's episode is a tangible resource on how to create a personal or organizational budget that actually works for you in 2021.

As I work with organizations, I find that many of them don't have a "true" fundraising goal. They are always looking to raise "more".

Who doesn't want more, right?

In this episode I share:

*how to make a "fundraising" budget
*how often you should be looking at your budget
*how to make changes so your budget works for you!

Did you know you say "Thank You" over 2,000 times every year?

Studies show that over half of those thank you's were said purely out of habit and not because you were genuinely thankful.

No wonder why so many people hear you "say" thank you, but they don't actually believe it! It's also why it's so important to show your gratitude a minimum of 7 times, in a variety of ways, to ensure your donors know they're appreciated.

In today's episode of the Fundraising Freedom Podcast, I share 20 different ways to thank your donors in 2020. By the way, this is your specific list for this unique year, not 2019 or 2021!

Are you overwhelmed and done with 2020 already?

My guest on the Fundraising Freedom Podcast today is Sarah Olivieri. As a nonprofit business strategist and former executive director, Sarah knows the overwhelm of running a nonprofit all too well.

Her advice, "The first step is to take things off your plate and throw them in the fireproof garbage can that I am now virtually handing you because your fire will burn you out! The best way to get more time and focus back in your day is to just stop doing some things, eliminate them, and that works even if you don’t have anybody to delegate to."

Sarah shares two more steps to follow to clear the overwhelm from your life and you'll hear all about her Impact Method, the 3-part process she runs all of her nonprofit clients through to set them up for success.

Contrary to popular belief, the #1 reason fundraisers fail is not that you're not working hard enough, the economy isn't great, or even because we're in a global pandemic.

You'd be surprised to know that all of these outside forces have little to do with whether your fundraiser succeeds. It's what's happening behind closed doors that should have you concerned!

When it comes to raising money, most people don't think about their own personal relationship with money as being the problem. They tend to point the finger at their donor or potential donor and question...

Why aren't THEY being generous?

Why can't THEY see how great we are?

What's wrong with THEM?

Have you ever stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, your problem is YOUR relationship with money and not THEIR relationship with THEIR money?

Money brings up a wide variety of emotions and it's no wonder why making the ask can be a challenge. So on today's episode of the Fundraising Freedom Podcast, we're going to tackle the topic of money and your relationship with it.
