Lutheran High School South

Lutheran High School South Lutheran South is a co-educational, Christian school serving over 600 students in grades 9-12.

Lutheran South is many things - first and foremost a Christian community where the love of God, expressed to us by His sending His Son to be our Savior, moves us to respond to Him through our love for others. Lutheran South also strives to be a closely-knit family, where cooperation between home and school is a priority, where students with a wide range of academic ability receive a demonstrably effective college-preparatory education, and where co-curricular opportunities abound in athletics, music, drama, art, academic competition and student government, just to name a few.

We packed the house for our Pink Out game!
Through T-shirt sales and contributions, we donated $1,200 to Faith Through Fire, an organization that helps women overcome the emotional challenges of breast cancer.
We also welcomed back the 2016 State Champs, and recognized Coach Carol Reinitz for her success in leading Lutheran South's volleyball program.

One of our favorite days of the year...
More than 115 athletes competed in the Special Olympics Bocce Ball Tournament today! These events have become school service opportunities for the staff and student body alike. It was a great day serving others and sharing God's love.

Congratulations to Caroline Fatzinger, Lydia Gilbert and Lillian Roden for being named Commended National Merit Scholars!
These three seniors were among the 50,000 highest scorers nationwide in the PSAT.
Caroline plans to major in business and ultimately attend law school. Lydia is considering engineering with an emphasis in chemistry. And Lillian plans to pursue a mathematics degree with hopes of becoming a high school teacher.
These girls are sure to be successful in their respective fields!

Students in Lancers for Life volunteered at the South County YMCA, helping with their Adaptive Sports program, which promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities in sports. Volunteers helped the participants practice their baseball skills by playing catch, assisting on the field, and cheering for them all along the way.

Lancers chucked a duck for cancer!
The LuSo Field Hockey team raised funds for the American Cancer Society.
Students donated and received a rubber duck to launch at a target to win gift cards. Peter the duck also stopped by to support!
There is still time to donate! Don’t miss your chance to chuck a duck at their next home game on Wednesday, September 23 at 4:15 p.m. Purchase 1 duck for $2 or 3 ducks for $5.
