Lucia Segovia hit the ground running as a our new Spanish teacher this year!
She was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, and holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Caracas, 2010). She worked in legal offices for several years in her native country and in the United States.
In 2018, she began her education career in Milwaukee, first assisting teachers as a paraprofessional, and then as a bilingual teacher. Her passion for teaching led her to complete a master's degree in education from Liberty University. In 2022, she was honored as Educator of the Year by the Wisconsin Association of Bilingual Education.
Last summer, Mrs. Segovia and her family moved to St. Louis, where she began working at the St. Louis Language Immersion School. She enjoys traveling around the world with her family, learning new languages and about other cultures, and growing in her faith. In her spare time, she volunteers as a Sunday school teacher, an English as a Second Language teacher, and as an interpreter and translator.
Welcome, Mrs. Segovia!
