Have you seen the newest addition to Mirowitz? We're excited to be part of a community-wide tzedakah box installation organized by the Jewish Federation of St. Louis!

Just as St. Louis celebrated with birthday cakes and Chicago with colorful cows, tzedakah boxes are popping up throughout our Jewish community, each serving as a reminder of the power of giving.

At Mirowitz, tzedakah is more than putting money in a box. It's about recognizing our responsibility to care for others and taking action to make the world a better place.

We are proud to be part of a community that puts Jewish values into action and inspires the next generation to give with purpose, lead with compassion, and imagine the impact they can make!

Today, on October 7, our school community gathered to remember and reflect three years after the horrific attacks in Israel. Together, our students and faculty marked this solemn day through poems, songs, reflection, and prayers for peace. We remembered the lives lost, honored the strength and resilience of the people of Israel, and held close all those whose lives were forever changed that day. Learning will continued throughout the day focused on resilience.

Three years later, we continue to remember. We continue to hope and pray for peace. And we continue to say with strength and love: Am Yisrael Chai. 🇮🇱

✨ How can each of us help repair the world, one spark at a time?✨

Today, our Kindergarten and 1st graders experienced Birthday of the World, a beautiful and immersive play inspired by Jewish folklore and the children’s book by Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen.

Through storytelling, visual wonder, and sensory play, students explored the idea that our world is filled with sparks of light, and that each of us has a role in finding those sparks and helping make the world whole again.

🦋 Today was a beautiful day for our 2nd graders as they released several butterflies into the world, complete with blessings for a long life (in butterfly years, anyway!).

Before saying goodbye, students learned how to carefully tag the butterflies with expert Gerald Axelbaum. A special thank you to Moreh Mike, who supported our students throughout the entire unit and helped them deepen their understanding of the butterfly life cycle.

From observing each stage of transformation to setting the butterflies free, what a special way to bring science to life! 🦋

What a special day of learning beyond the classroom!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Ruth Lederman and Terry Stern, our entire school had the opportunity to head to Shakespeare Glen to see Romeo and Zooliet! We are so grateful for donors who help create memorable experiences like this for our students and bring learning to life in unexpected and joyful ways.

On Simchat Torah, our students experience the joy of being close to Torah, observing its words, asking questions, and discovering something new. This week, "Morah Torah" brought that learning to life with a live Torah game show, where students put their knowledge to the test, learned new facts, and celebrated Torah with plenty of fun and Jewish joy!

🍋🌿 Sukkot at Mirowitz was filled with Jewish joy! 🍋🌿

This week, our students celebrated in so many special ways. They shook the lulav, smelled the etrog, ate lunch in the sukkah, participated in t'fillah, celebrated at a 3rd grade sukkah party, and gathered as a community for Songs and Snacks in the Sukkah.
