Ms. Schmidt, one of our fifth-grade teachers, was featured by the Mehlville School District in this Staff Spotlight!

Staff Spotlight: Danielle Schmidt is a fifth-grade teacher at Trautwein Elementary School. She has 16 years of experience in education and has taught everything from preschool to high school.

Her favorite part of her job is working with her colleagues to create an environment at Trautwein where all students can experience success and belonging.

“I love being able to create a class family where we work as a team to learn and grow together. Making those connections with and among students fosters a sense of pride in their learning and accomplishments. When students are invested in the classroom and class family, they see more opportunities for leadership and invest in their own learning.” 💙

Not only did we receive new playground equipment this summer, but it's also safer for students thanks to the addition of a fence!

Project complete ✅

When the Facilities Steering Committee toured school last year, the group of parents, staff members and community members recommended upgrading co-curricular facilities, including our elementary school playgrounds.

We’re excited to share that construction is now complete on a new playground at Trautwein Elementary School! In addition to upgrading the equipment, fencing was also added to make the playground safer for the students and community members who use it.

Point Elementary School also received a playground upgrade this summer. Before this work, Point and Trautwein had the two oldest playgrounds in the Mehlville School District.
