Q***r & trans educator supporting organizations and communities in their commitment to LGBTQ+ equity

02/17/2026

Creating better outcomes for q***r and gender-expansive youth requires more than just awareness; it requires systemic shifts in our approach to affirming care.

Join me on March 18th for a virtual Lunch & Learn hosted by Webster University, where we will:

• Move beyond the basics of trauma-informed care toward specific, culturally-responsive interventions for gender-expansive youth

• Explore ecological frameworks that address the multi-layered factors impacting LGBTQ+ youth safety and wellness

• Bridge theory and practice with actionable tools for every level of clinical experience

The event is free to attend and offers CEUs for those who need them.

Whether you’re new to supporting LGBTQ+ youth or a seasoned ally, I’d love to see you there!

Next week, the US Supreme Court will be hearing key cases affecting transgender students' right to fair, equal opportunities in schools. Join community at City Hall on Monday 1/12, as we show up in support of trans youth! It truly takes a team: help spread the word by sharing this flyer. See y'all there! 💜

“Rally for Trans Rights” on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 12:00–1:30 p.m., at the St. Louis City Hall Rotunda.

On January 13, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. B.P.J., landmark cases challenging bans that discriminate against transgender students under the Equal Protection Clause and Title IX.

In response, the ACLU has called on Black Pride STL and TFAM organizations nationwide to host community activations in support of trans justice. Black Pride St. Louis is answering this call by hosting a “Rally for Trans Rights” on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 12:00–1:30 p.m., at the St. Louis City Hall Rotunda.

We invite you to partner with us by promoting and participating in this rally, including outreach, sign-making, and uplifting community speakers.

Trans rights are human rights. We hope you will stand with us in supporting our trans siblings and affirming justice for all.

For more information or to get involved, please contact Jordan Elizabeth Braxton, Vice President of Black Pride St. Louis, at [email protected].

Puberty can feel weird and unfamiliar for any kid, but imagine going through it without any information about bodies like your own! 😣 That’s the reality for too many students, which is why I was thrilled to spend my morning with elementary school Health teachers, exploring ways to make their curriculum more inclusive and affirming for ALL students: including those who are gender-expansive and intersex. Creating a learning environment where every child feels seen, supported, and informed is essential, and I’m grateful to be part of this important work!

Less than 24 hours after an executive order was issued to ban support for transgender students and students of color, I had the honor of facilitating a session for district leaders.

Together, we strategized and deepened our commitment to educational equity. I’m incredibly grateful to work alongside leaders who refuse to abandon the most vulnerable members of our school communities. Their support gives me hope. 🔥✨

Getting used to writing “2025” is just like learning a person’s pronouns. You’ll likely get it wrong at first or need to focus more than usual to avoid making mistakes, but the more you do it, the more natural it becomes! 🙌🏼

Learning new things takes time and practice (not to mention mistakes along the way). Putting in the effort to use gender-affirming language goes a long way in being respectful and inclusive.

If you’re looking to strengthen your understanding and use of gender-affirming language, this nonbinary English teacher is always happy to share resources. 🫡

I also invite you to join the waitlist for the next run of my course, “Perfect Pronouns in 30 Days.” It’s been a hit with parents, teachers, therapists, grandparents, and more!

Today, I had the honor of welcoming school staff back from winter break! ❄️

As much as I love facilitating school- and district-wide professional development, I always appreciate the opportunity to meet with departments and discuss specific strategies for supporting students, staff, and families.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

For example, today I worked with a wonderful group of choir teachers. Because of the shared roles within the room, we were able to take a deep dive into topics specific to their classrooms, such as:

🎵 Effects of gender-affirming hormones on vocal anatomy and range
🎵 Balancing gender affirmation with vocal safety
🎵 Navigating gender dysphoria caused by voice
🎵 So much more!
