Spring Concerts are next week! It’s that time of year again, Maycember, when families get to enjoy a flurry of end of the school year events in one busy month. Next week includes two nights of band concerts! Hear the melodious sounds of our talented young musicians, see our Band Director Dr. Weis in action, elect next year’s Band Boosters Board and help us send off our graduating High School Seniors. As always, the concerts are free to attend. Concessions and digital recordings of the shows will be available for purchase and those ever-important seat cushions can be rented for $1. Many hands make light work so please sign up at the link below to help make this year’s concerts another successful event.
2026 Spring Concert Lineup:
Wednesday, May 13th: Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Wind Ensemble
Thursday, May 14th: Jazz Band, Intermediate Band, Wind Ensemble
Shows begin at 6:30 both evenings with a 6:00 call time for musicians.

We're in the home stretch of the 2026 school year, and what a year it's been for our Goldbug Band program! We've enjoyed the growth and exciting new opportunities that band director Dr. Greg Weis has brought to our students, and look forward to celebrating with two great nights of music at McKinley....

The McKinley Band Boosters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports all levels of the McKinley Band program through fundraising and community-building events like Trivia Night, dining out nights, the upcoming Annual Band Picnic and the Winter and Spring Concerts. This year three of our amazing Board members are retiring, offering the perfect opportunity for you to get involved! Thank you so much to Sarah Dickhoff, Carnetta Thompson and Amanda Doyle for giving your time and energy to our musicians. We appreciate and will miss you all!
With Sarah, Carnetta and Amanda leaving we need to fill three board positions for the 2026-2027 school year: Vice President, Communications Manager and Media & Volunteer Coordinator. The Band Boosters Board usually meets once a month and as needed before events. We would like to officially introduce our new board at next week’s concerts. Parents, grandparents, guardians! Come to the next Band Boosters meeting! Tuesday, January 20, 6:30 - 7:30 pm, at Buder Library, 4401 Hampton Ave. The McKinley Band Boosters volunteer & sell concessions at concerts, sponsor fundraisers & social events and do all we can to support the McKinley Bands. We will be planning specifically for the Trivia Night on Saturday, February 7, and the Bowling & Bad Karaoke Night on Sunday, February 22.
