National Ugly Sweater Day takes place on the 3rd Friday of December every year and was created in 2011 as a way to lighten up the busy holidays and to show off ugly sweaters.

When you see gingerbread cookies, I bet you think of the holidays.
Before the cookie became the most popular holiday dessert, baking gingerbread was a specific profession.
In the 17th century, gingerbread was sold in special shops and only professional gingerbread bakers were allowed to make gingerbread, except at Christmas and Easter. The practice of building gingerbread houses were the result of Grimm's "Hansel and Gretel."
