25 years in business.

Never really thought about it but after my business license fell off the wall I was thinking……dang I’ve been doing this a while.

It’s really been an enjoyable experience. Met a lot of good people, provided good experiences and opened my neighborhood and STL to Sifu Yee’s SPM Kung Fu. Made a few enemies but that’s ok, need to keep your training sharp. Met some who should’ve stayed home who thought kfu is what they saw on the internet.
Some students who got me started like Luke and Steve. Bob, Anne, Ray. Students who’ve been around for a while (in sickness and in health). Marc, Andrew, Sonnie, Anthony, Coach, Big Brian, Billy the Barber, Laura (painted the school on her $ and time), and more!

Would absolutely positively not be this far without the help of my wife, Natalie and Victoria (helped me teach the kids before I lose it), Michael the Irishmen) plus Tommy Quan and Russel Chel who keep the school going with their knowledge, time, and support.

Quotes from Sifu Yee which stick with me everyday:

Kung fu people not normal people.

Kung fu people no excuse.

You can’t be #1 in your bathroom. If you have something good, share it with the people.

The goal is to not fit in and look like others. The goal is your goal. Your kfu is what you want it to be. Gain the courage and determination to reach it through training. While you need 2 man drills/contact/“sparring” you still need to train on your own. When no one is watching and no one cares make yourself better. Keep in mind you’ll get better but most will not notice, some won’t care, and a few will be jealous (see internet). You keep going building a force within you that will carry on. Remember: if you underestimate me you can’t stop me.

Year of the horse.

Here’s something to try this year. If you have a goal, pursuit (something important to do) approach it like a running horse. They have no brakes, go fast, and will knock anyone over in their way. And look good doing it!

Happy New Year
