‼️We never planned to start a business, but people asked us for more.
🖤During the pandemic I lived with my sister and we , like you, were just trying to figure out how to be teachers and work full time. We instituted table time for half the day for the geniuses to focus on school. We asked them to name the table time. The cousins named it Black Genius School. They chose the Black Panther as their mascot along with purple, gold and black as their school colors.
👦🏾In addition to their regular school work they wanted to know about Black History so we started sharing facts we knew and looking up other things. When we posted pictures to social, friends starting asking for their children to attend Black Genius School. Even some adults wanted to join in.
🤩In response we offered a free week-long science camp-one hour a day we taught about a black inventor every day and did a craft or experiment along with affirmations and games. It was a blast. So much so that at the end of the week the families asked, “what’s next?”
💻From there Black Genius School was born and became, at that time, a virtual learning community for families.
🫶🏽Now we’re sharing Black History in person through learning events for schools, organizations, and families. We’d love to meet you IRL at our Launch Party to celebrate going in person. Educators, children, and parents alike are invited to experience a Black History Lesson (Black Genius School style) hear more about how we can work together and ask us questions.
💜💛🖤Let’s bring Black History alive, together. Free event, limited seats, sign up today. Link in bio

Meet our Chief Education Officer, Tramaine Williams.
I am trained in System Analysis. I am an organized thinker and researcher. I create lesson plans for Black Genius School. I am also the PTA President at my daughter Sarina's school.
I have received Volunteer of the Year twice in the Hazelwood School District. One of the things I’m most proud of is securing a National PTA Grant that was sponsored by the Bayer Fund to host a STEM Festival. Our school was the only one in Missouri to be awarded this honor.
After working on a project about Nigeria with a friend, I was reminded of the value of my heritage. This led me to immerse myself further into learning Black and African history and affirm myself as I continued to face racial encounters with peers.
I bring a passion to teaching with children so they too can carry positive and uplifting self-messages. I received my Bachelor of Science in System Analysis from Miami University in Oxford Ohio.

Who’s inspiring us right now?
Black Wall Street in Tulsa Oklahoma. We visited in 2022. It was an emotional and powerful experience. Seeing that people like me had community, spent money within that community and thrived motivates us today. We’re here to share our history, provide memorable and life-changing experiences for geniuses of all colors and creeds and to thrive not merely survive!
We’re inspired to bring your genius history, affirmations, hands-on fun and learning that will support the positive learning or school culture you’re shaping.
Next week we’re teaching On Black Wall Street and Financial Literacy at Grannemann Elementary. Can’t wait to see those geniuses.
